The Green Line League has been in existence for 9 years. Named for Boston’s famous Green Line on the T. All league members have lived on the Green Line at some time in their lives, but I am the only one left as everyone has moved away to the suburbs. It is a pure rotisserie baseball league consisting of 10 teams. Each year the league champion get his/her name on the coeted John Marzano Cup and gets to keep it for a year. The teams 1) The Jaigermeisters (expansion team 1992) owned by Eric and Kathleen Orlin, who have decided to concentrate on having children and have not been really competative the past few years, but look like they have THE TEAM TO BEAT going into 2000. 2) Blicher Bums (original 8) owned by Neil Blicher-dropped from 1st to 3rd on the last day of 1999. I have no further comments. 3) Punchin’ Judys (original 8) owned by Dave Orlin and Karyn Wendelowski- Original champions who reappeared in the money this year. 4) The team formerly known as SKROD (acquired from SKROD 1998) “a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds” SKROD finishes 91-93 6th, 94-5th, 95-3rd, 96-7 6th, the TEAM finishes 98-99 5th 5) Jamaica Weedeaters (original 8) owned by Ken Blacklow now of Japan, and Bob (the Big) Cuhna. These guys are always in the race though the past two years they have lit victory cigars at the draft. 6) WORF (expansion 1992) my team two time champ, but either finishes first of lower than 8th. 7) Sons of a Gun (origninal 8) two time champ, in the entire leagues’ head, almost made the best comeback ever this year as he was in 7th on 8/15/99 and finished one hit away from first. 8) Marlboro Men (original 8) Owned by Eli Olinick. Originally called the Book House Boys for 1991, I think they should be called Oli’s Canolis. They follow me around the standings, as go the Men so go the WORF. 9) Mighty Ducks (expansion 1993) owned by Roger Rubin, first team to win back to back championships, we wonder if we will ever see the trophy again. 10) The Fenstamachers owned by Matt Spengler and Steve Levitt (expansion 1994). The Red Sox of the Green Line League, always have a good to great team but always find a way to finish in the second division.
